    Finance Director Central Europe (m/w/d)

    Roles & responsibilities: 

    Provide financial active support the Regional MD in running the business, striving for Customer Satisfaction and Financial Performance.

    Ultimately responsible for all financial activity in the region, ensure strong internal controls are in place, manage and supervise finance teams at the local level, providing managerial oversight and coaching as necessary. Manage and supervise other Finance Director in the CE region.

    Responsibility for finance activities

    • act as Finance Director Germany and Austria & Finance Director CE (Germany, Austria, Benelux (Belgium & Netherlands))
    • take leadership over finance organization Germany & Austria
    • take leadership and support the Finance Director Benelux
    • lead monthly closing activities and ensure timely reporting
    • consolidate CE results and data
    • act as a consultant for operational departments in CE with special focus on Germany and Austria but also on demand for the other CE Countries
    • act as a main contact for European Finance Director and Controlling
    • take a leading part in forecast calls and financial reviews
    • manage all audit activities from a CE position at operational side
    • ensure strong controls are in place in day-to-day activities
    • preparation of monthly management reports and analysis of results
    • Reporting of Financial performance related to profitability, pricing, productivity – financial analyses of key business indicators and early warning of deviations in any these indicators
    • lead budgeting, financial planning and controls
    • travel as appropriate

     

    People Management

    • select, develop and coach the subordinate(s) and set an example as an ethical leader across the region
    • set individual targets for his/her direct reports, appraise their performance and provide them with actionable feedback
    • ensure management continuity: identify, hire and provide development opportunity for high potentials in close collaboration with the HR department
    • adopt an open and fair management style in combination with an intense
    • two-way communication with all employees

     

    Responsible for compliance and systems

    • respect of EH&S rules and full knowledge of internal policies and corporate wide rules & procedures
    • compliance with corporate and financial policies and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
    • help to increase the corporate wide Quality Assurance Program in all activities to achieve higher quality, customer- and employee satisfaction
    • work as an active member of the Finance QAP-cell
    • help to communicate and comply with the company’s “Code of Ethics”

     

    Requirements:

    Education:

    • chartered Accountant – qualified
    • Master Degree in Finance
    • knowledge and experience of local & US-GAAP
    • experience in Accounting, FP&A, Controlling, monthly and annual statement of accounts
    • good understanding of internal controls
    • experience working in multinational companies
    • vision of finance as a business partner contributing to results and not as a back-office function
    • ability to challenge status quo and to introduce change
    • strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills

     

    Languages:

    • German native speaking level
    • English fluently
    • other languages are beneficial

     

    Experience:

    • several years of professional experience in finance / accounting, ideally in an international manufacturing company in the automotive industry or in an automotive-related industry environment.
    • professional experience in financial accounting in a medium-sized or large company – preferably with corporate international background
    • proven track record to deliver and lead organizations according to tight deadlines
    • very good MS Office skills and good knowledge of relevant ERP systems
    • very good analytical skills and good ability with figures
